HUNTING IN MAREMMA
Tuscany is one of the best regions in Italy for hunting and welcomes about 110.000 hunters every year. The legal hunting season (between the 16th of September and the 31st of January every year) is open in 19 areas in the region (while hunting is strictly prohibited in 25% of the territory). Pheasants, partridge, grouse wild boar and hare can be hunted near the Podere.
Wild fowl hunting is limited to the hunting season described above, while boar can be hunted between the 1st of November and the 15th of March, even with snow on the ground.
Training hunting dogs with gunfire is permitted all the other days of the year.
As well being renowned for its wild boar and wood pigeon hunting, Tuscany is also famous for its fishing: Tuscany has about 12 thousand kilometres of rivers and canals that can provide excellent fishing for about 50,000 fishermen.
